Red dye added to Northland fountain for Chiefs big game

KANSAS CITY, Mo. — The Kansas City, Mo. Parks and Recreation Department added red dye to the fountain at I-29 and North Oak Trafficway.

The so-called “Spirit of Cooperation” fountain in Anita Gorman Park is one of only three fountains that runs year-round.

The center geyser can propel water to a height of 35 feet.

In the winter it becomes an ice sculpture attracting people to view varied shapes created by the frozen water.

And now that sculpture is Chiefs’ Red!
