KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Business really picked up for the Royals Tuesday night as they won the opening game of the World Series.
The same can be said for the team store at Kauffman Stadium, which was busy with customers all evening long.
The Royals are accustomed to putting in long days. So are the clerks in the Royals team store and they say they’re planning to be open for an hour after each Royals victory at The K.
There was a consistent theme among customers at the store Tuesday.
Everyone wanted to get their hands on World Series merchandise, which is said to be hard to locate around town.
Even during the final innings of the game customers were coming into the store hoping to get their hands on items commemorating the Royals second trip to the fall classic in as many years.
“You can’t find it anywhere else,” Royals fan Amy Tuttle said. “I’ve been everywhere in Kansas City. Literally, today. Four different stores. It’s only the stuff you’ll find here.”
