KANSAS CITY, Mo. — The Kansas City Royals have traded left-handed pitcher Jonathan Sanchez to the Colorado Rockies for right-handed pitcher Jeremy Guthrie.

Sanchez was sent down to AAA-Omaha after a disastrous start against the Seattle Mariners on Monday night. Sanchez was 1-6 with a 7.76 ERA this season for the Royals.

Guthrie’s numbers this season have also been somewhat of a disappointment. Guthrie was 3-9 with a 6.35 ERA this season for the Rockies.

If there’s a silver lining to those numbers, it’s that Guthrie has fared much better on the road than at home this year. At home, Guthrie was 1-5 with a 9.50 ERA. On the road, he posted a 2-4 record with a 3.67 ERA.
