NEW CENTURY, Kan. – Authorities have cancelled an issued silver alert for an elderly woman who went missing Saturday afternoon. Police say the woman has been found safe.

The Johnson County Sheriff’s Office and Spring Hill Police Department were looking for 82-year-old Norma Smith, who had last seen walking near her home at 22550 S. Franklin, in southern Spring Hill, Kansas at approximately 4:30 p.m., on Saturday afternoon. On Saturday evening around 8 p.m. police located the woman safe and sound.

Smith is 5’ 3” tall and weighs about 130 lbs.  She has long gray hair that she usually wears in a ponytail.  Smith had last seen wearing a long dress carrying a black jacket and a tote bag with a flower design when she initially went missing..
