NORTH KANSAS CITY, Mo. — A northland woman is frustrated she’s now a two-time victim of vandalism.
Joann Brady and her husband have walked out to broken glass in their driveway twice in the last few weeks.
“It makes you angry, obviously it’s a waste of money it’s a real pain in the neck to get it fixed.” explained Brady.
The Brady’s minivan is now tucked away in the garage, before it was parked on the street because a dumpster was in the driveway while they had work done to the house.
Brady is among more than 250 reported crimes costing at least $125,000 in damages. Police crime state show this string of vandalisms, which they believe are connected, date back to September.
Detective Jim Keller feels the frustratioin of each victim. He and fellow officers want to catch the responsible party.
“When we catch person responsible for this we’re going to make sure they’re charged with every crime that we can file on them.” said Keller.
New home surveillance video was released Friday. Keller is hopeful it helps.
“The vandals pulled up in a light colored SUV and three exited that SUV and broke the windows of a parked and unoccupied car in front of a residence and got back in their car and sped away.” explained Detective Keller.
The damaged area is vast and so are the type of weapons used, but Keller believes the same group is responsible.
“They’ve hit from I-29 to Worlds of Fun, Barry Road to Parvin Road, and they’ve used everything from pellet guns, to landscaping stones and rocks, to blunt objects such as baseball bats and even bottles,” said Keller.
