KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Jackson Hewitt has a deal for people who are going through a divorce. On Valentine’s Day, the tax company will guide newly divorced people through the process of filing taxes as a single person.
The company says the process can be tricky and newly divorced people often have a lot of concerns. Some popular concerns include issues of alimony and child support and if they’re tax deductible. People are also concerned about if tax witholdings will decrease now that they’re divorced.
Jackson Hewitt will answer questions for free. There is a charge is they end up filing paperwork for you.
