LONDON — Police arrested three more people Saturday in connection with this week’s grisly killing of a British soldier.

Witnesses saw two men run down Lee Rigby in London, hack him with a meat cleaver and then dragged his body into the middle of a street.  One man who was arrested at the scene said they targeted Rigby, because Muslims are dying.

As for the new arrests, police said the men are being held on suspicion of conspriacy to commit murder.  Officers aren’t saying just how they’re tied to the killing.

Anti-Muslim sentiment is on the rise in the United Kingdom after the soldier’s murder.  A protest in the northern part of the country drew about 1,500 people — several times more than was expected.

The demonstrators said they’re frustrated with the inability of the Islamic community to confront the extremists.

“We’re angry.  We want them to act.  We want to see something done. We want to see light at the end of the tunnel. This is going to happen again. This has been a slow progression from spitting at our troops in Luton to burning our puppies to beheading our troops,” said English Defense League’s leader Tommy Robinson.

Bystanders watching the march threw bottles at the protesters.  Another group held a counter demonstration.
