GARDNER, Kan. — Police in Gardner say that a tree trimmer died on Friday morning after falling about 60 feet.

Police say Larry Dean Webb, 47, of Olathe, was working as an independent contractor trimming trees at a residence in Gardner, located at 235 N. Maple Street. Shortly before noon officers said Webb fell to the ground from a height of about 60 feet. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police said OSHA had declined any investigation into this incident because Webb had been working independently. Investigators ruled his death as an “Accidental Death from a Long Fall.”
