LEAWOOD, Kan. — Police are investigating after two bodies were found inside a home in the area of 104th & High Drive in Leawood, Kan. Officers were called to a home to check the welfare of the occupants around 1:40 p.m. on Tuesday.
When the officers arrived, they found a man and woman dead inside the home. Police are investigating this as a murder/suicide and are not looking for a suspect at this time.
“There was no forced entry. The deceased were in the same room together,” said Capt. Kevin Cauley with Leawood police. “It didn’t appear that they was any type of intruder.”
Police say they have been to the home at least twice before on ambulance calls. A source close to the family tells FOX 4 those calls involved a person considered to be a danger to themselves.
Neighbors say no kids lived at the home and that they rarely saw the couple. The neighbors say they’re concerned about the perception of their neighborhood because of this incident.
“Anytime we have people pass at their homes, neighbors are concerned,” said Capt. Cauley. “And until we give the details of what happened, if that ever comes out, I’m sure there’s going to be concern.”
Police say the man was in his fifties and the woman was in her forties. Their identities have not been released.
