OMAHA, Neb. – Tyler Ahlgren’s hometown, Circleville, Kan., has a population of about 150, and it’s located about an hour and a half from Kansas City. He headed up to the American Idol auditions in Omaha after deciding being a performer is all he wants to do.
“Whether I end up starving on the streets and just playing for quarters or whether I play in big stages for lots of people, I love music, so I think it’ll be great either way,” Ahlgren said.
His specialty is rock music.
“A lot of people from my hometown call me Steven Tyler. I don’t know if it’s the hair, if it’s the way that I act when I’m onstage,” Ahlgren said.
He’s also known to ‘rock’ a more bluegrass side as well.
While Tyler performs around Kansas, it`s not paying the bills yet.
“Now I’m working at a tanning salon that my mom recently opened,” Ahlgren said.
