INDEPENDENCE, Mo. — A section of 23rd Street in Independence is closed following a water main break early Monday morning.
Both east and west-bound lanes of 23rd Street are closed between Route 291 and Lee’s Summit Road due to a water main break.
Officials say that crews are working to assess the damage and make repairs to the roadway, which is expected to remain closed through the end of the week.
