Woman accused of an outlandish string of crimes involving children and bomb threats

JAMES CITY COUNTY, Va. — A woman whose responsibility was to watch over her friend’s three kids ended up vacating her duty in perhaps the most bizarre and dangerous way possible. Affiliate WTKR reports that the 26-year-old woman left two of them at a Burger King and an infant under a delivery van before making a bomb threat at a T.J. Maxx.

Police initially responded to the call and a witness told them he noticed the woman acting strangely while carrying the infant and then said she placed the child under a delivery van’s tire.

That witness intervened, scaring the woman away momentarily. For some reason she re-approached the witness, but then pretended to be deaf when the witness tried to talk to her. The witness said when he picked up the infant, she screamed, “He will kill us, you must put him back!” He called 911, she ran to a nearby T.J. Maxx.

Police say she then went inside the store and yelled out loud that the store would blow up in 29 seconds. She proceeded to go into a storeroom and began climbing up the shelves.

She continued to say that the store was going to explode and started taking her clothes off once police arrived and confronted her. She was taken into custody after a minor struggle and a bomb squad found her threat was baseless after investigating for two hours.

After she was subdued, police found the four and five-year-old she had abandoned at a Burger King across the street from the T.J. Maxx. The woman was supposed to be looking after the children while their mother was at a hair appointment.

The woman has charges pending against her that include three counts of child neglect and making a bomb threat. She has been hospitalized and is undergoing medical and psychological evaluations. The children were uninjured and returned to their mother.
