OVERLAND PARK, Ks. – An Overland Park woman says she was terrorized by a man with a badge who tried to pull her over. Fox 4’s Kathy Quinn met with the woman at police headquarters to help her get some answers.
Cindy wants to remain anonymous because she’s scared. She says while in morning rush hour traffic near 75th & Quivira on Tuesday, a man flashed his badge, said he was a retired police officer and told her to pull over. He said he was going to arrest her because she was driving recklessly.
The man in a red pickup truck followed Cindy from 75th & Quivira and she decided to call 9-1-1 after he followed her onto the highway. Overland Park police dispatch told her to stay on the line and directed her to the police headquarters. Two officers were waiting for her. The man drove into the parking lot and police talked to him. Police say he was a retired military police officer. Officer Gary Mason said Cindy did the correct thing by not stopping. He says police are checking into the situation.
