COLLEGE STATION, Texas — A Texas mother heard strange sounds in the middle of the night, and when she went to investigate, she found the stuff of horror movies.
She flipped on the light in her bathroom and saw it. A 12-foot African python crawling into her bathtub. Like most people, Veronica Rodriguez slammed the door and ran out of the house.
She said she’d given her daughter’s three guinea pigs a bath around 6 p.m. on May 4. Afterwards, she took them outside so they could run in a penned area. She left the back door open, and believes that’s when the python crawled inside her home.
She called police and an officer arrived with a brown paper sack.
“I told him, ‘You’re going to need a bigger sack than that,” the woman told The Eagle newspaper.
The snake was eventually taken by Animal Control to a reptile rescue facility. Its owner came forward, claimed the snake and took it home.
