KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Royals manager Ned Yost confirmed on Saturday that pitcher James Shields will be his starter in Game One of the World Series, when the Royals meet the San Francisco Giants on Tuesday at Kauffman Stadium.
Yost also said that Yordano Ventura would be his Game Two starter.
It’s not confirmed, but it’s believed that Giants Manager Bruce Bochy will counter with NLCS MVP Madison Bumgarner to oppose Shields in Game One.
The Giants are due to arrive in Kansas City on Sunday, and perhaps hold a workout at Kauffman Stadium late Sunday afternoon.
Game One of the World Series will take place Tuesday night at Kauffman Stadium. First pitch is set for 7:07 p.m. All World Series games can be seen on WDAF-TV, FOX 4.
