AUSTIN, Texas — No. 6 Kansas is no longer the hottest team in the Big 12. That distinction now belongs to No. 25 Texas. The Longhorns manhandled the Jayhawks 81-69 in Austin. It’s KU’s first conference loss after winning seven straight. The Horns (17-4/6-2) have won six straight, the last four over ranked opponents.

Texas caused the Jayhawks to have one of their worst shooting efforts of the season. KU made 39 percent of its shots. Leading scorer Andrew Wiggins was 2-for-12 for seven points. The Horns blocked 12 shots, and out rebounded the Jayhawks 44-37. Isaiah Taylor led Texas with 23 points.

KU (16-5/7-1) still leads the Big 12, but Texas is one game behind. The Jayhawks will return to Texas Tuesday night to play at Baylor.
