KANSAS CITY, Kan. — Soccer fans from far and wide will be headed to Kansas City next week. They’ll be descending on Sporting Park for the Major League Soccer All-Star Game a week from Wednesday.

KCK Mayor Mark Holland kicked off a week of events leading up to the game. On Wednesday he hosted the Kansas City Soccer Week Kick-Off event, where the All-Star jersey was unveiled and a Harvesters food drive competition began between Kansas City, Kan. and Kansas City, Mo.

AT&T is a sponsor of the game, the company’s president, Steve Hahn, said the benefits to the community are considerable

“It’s estimated that it brings $15 to $20 million to the host city,” Hahn said.
