CORVALLIS, Oregon — The Kansas State Wildcats lost in the series deciding game 3 on Monday night to Oregon State by a final score of 4-3.

The win for the Beavers means they advance to play in the College World Series that begins later this week in Omaha, Nebraska.

The loss for the Wildcats means the most successful baseball campaign in school history comes to an end. Kansas State was never able to overcome a 2-0 first inning deficit, and finished it’s season with a 45-19 record. The Wildcats season was highlighted not only by a trip to the NCAA Super Regionals, but they also won the Big 12 regular season championship, and head coach Andy Hill was  named Big 12 Coach of the Year.
